Mogen wij u voorstellen: MARLYNES IRISH DANCERS
"Dansstudio Marlynes" ,bekend om z'n diversiteit in dansopleidingen, opende haar deuren in september 1994. Deze studio, onder leiding van Annemie Thijs, groeide uit tot een musicalstudio waar je naar hartelust kan zingen dansen en acteren.
Sinds 1999 heeft deze studio zich ook gespecialiseerd in traditionele Ierse Dans en showdans zoals die in "Riverdance" en "Lord of the dance" te zien is.
Het begon allemaal met een bezoek aan de show "Riverdance" in London. De manier van dansen fascineerde ons zo dat we er meer van wilden weten. Dus volgde er een hele reeks "Ierse dans workshops" en een studie aan de "Universiteit voor muziek en dans" te Limerick in Ierland.
Ierse Dans is niet alleen showdans, maar vooral competitiedans .In september 2001 voldeden we aan de criteria om ons als "Associate Irish Dance Teacher" te laten registreren bij "An Coimisiún le Rinci Gaelacha" w.w.z 'de "Officiële Comissie voor Ierse Dans" in Dublin. Vanaf dan mochten onze dansers deelnemen aan de officiële Competities.
Dit deden ze dan ook en met succes in Nederland, Noorwegen, Finland, Duitsland en Denemarken, waar ze verschillende eerste prijzen wonnen per leeftijdscategorie.
Wat u in onze optredens te zien krijgt is een afwisseling van eigen choreografieën met traditionele dansen zoals "St Patricksday", de "Blackbird", "Job of Journeywork" en de "Garden of Daisies".

"Dance studio Marlynes", known for its variety of dance courses, opened its doors in September 1994. This studio, directed by Annemie Thijs, has developed into a musical studio where you can sing, dance and act to your heart's content.
Since 1999, the studio also specializes in traditional Irish Dance and show dance of the kind you can admire in "Riverdance" and "Lord of the dance".
It all started with a visit to the show "Riverdance" in London. The way of dancing fascinated us to the extent that we wanted to know more about it. Thus followed a whole series of "Irish dance workshops" and studies at the "University for Music and Dance" in Limerick, Ireland.
Irish Dance is not only show dance, but also and especially competition dance. In September 2001 we satisfied the criteria to be registered as "Associate Irish Dance Teacher" at "An Coimisiún le Rinci Gaelacha" i.e. the "Official Comission for Irish Dance" in Dublin. From that moment on, our dancers could participate in the official Competitions.
They did so, and with success, in The Netherlands, Norway, Finland, Germany and Denmark, where they won many prices in different age categories.
What you get to see in our shows is an alternation of our own choreographies and traditional dances such as "Saint Patrick's Day", "Blackbird", "Job of Journeywork" and "Garden of Daisies".
